Exciting changes!

2014 is and has brought some BIG changes for our family! I can't believe the first month of 2014 is already behind us which means it's past time to update our blog with the changes in our journey. For those that know us personally you know Luke has been preparing to enter full time ministry for the past few years. At this time last year he had just been ordained and we have been praying ever since for God to open and close doors and show us where He wanted us to serve. It was a long journey that required a lot of patience and prayer. God answered our prayers in His perfect timing! Luke is now the pastor at Highland Drive Free Will Baptist Church in Lincolnton, NC. We moved here one month ago and things are off to a great start. While it was extremely hard to leave my parents, our White Oak Hill family, our Chick-fil-a family and many friends we know this is what God has for our family. All along the way God confirmed His Will for us and gave us complete peace. The congregation at HD has gone above and beyond to welcome us here. Everyone has been so friendly, supportive and helpful! This is a huge transition for our family as Luke was at Chick-fil-a for 12 years and we had been at WOH for 6 years. Life is a lot different but the transition is going really well. I really couldn't ask for it to go any better. The boys have done extremely well. They made friends at church immediately and act like they've been here their whole life. Our new roles can be overwhelming as we do not feel qualified to fill these roles but we trust that God has called us and know that He will equip us! It truly has been amazing as we look back over the past several years. We had many conversations about when this time would come and what it would be like and here we are! God is so faithful and we are so thankful for how He has worked in our life. We are so excited about serving Him through full time ministry. We can't wait to see what He has in store!

 

 

The next big change in our journey will arrive this summer, Lord willing! Yep! Our family is growing! We are expecting our third child!! :-) I am 18 weeks along and thankfully the pregnancy is going really well. It seems to be going by fast since we've been so busy with the move and all. At 15 weeks and 6 days, on January 17th (just recording the details for myself ;-)) we found out we are having a GIRL!!! Of course we would have been fine with another sweet boy (we discussed at length before the pregnancy) but we are THRILLED that God has chosen to bless us with a little girl! The boys are very excited to be getting a sister, at least that's what they think now! LOL! ;-) From the very beginning they both said they hoped it was a girl without any influence! Luke is on cloud nine and I'm still in shock and disbelief! :-) This will be a whole new world for us and seeing pink will take some getting use to but we can handle it!! ;-) One thing that is completely different is picking a name....we took quite a while with both of the boys but we've had our little girl's name picked out for a very long time and we finally get to use it.....It is with great pleasure that I introduce to you....
