Transplant - Day Twenty (+3)

Landen had a rough morning. It seems like the IV medicine that he gets twice a day is making him sick. The team agreed and decided to try a new schedule tomorrow. Landen's blood pressure has been high off and on so he will be starting a new blood pressure medicine as needed right now and then on a regular basis in a couple of days. The doctor said it is high because of the medicines so it is not his body doing it. He said it's nothing to be concerned about. They also changed his nausea medicine because he was getting headaches. After he got sick he started feeling better and perked up and played for quite a while. He got a platelet transfusion today. His platelets had dropped from 24 to 16. His hemoglobin was still good so he doesn't need that yet but he will soon. He did have a little bit of a fever at one point today. The later the day got the worse Landen felt. He was really tired tonight and not feeling great. His main problem was his throat starting to hurt. Late in the night he said he couldn't take it anymore and he got some pain medicine. He fell asleep right after that and rested well. Landen asked for a few things to eat today but each time he would only take a bite or two and be done so he's still not eating but thankfully, the team is able to easily keep him nourished! Mr. Alex and Mrs. Wanda came to visit tonight. Unfortunately, Landen wasn't feeling well then so he wasn't up for a picture. We enjoyed their visit though. They are such a blessing to us. I did happen to get a picture earlier in the day while he was playing with some new toys from his friend Riley.

It has been such a blessing to have our family here. Luke's mom has been keeping Brayden and Hannah Grace and my family has been here to help us. We've been able to take breaks and get out of the hospital. While that is hard to do, it is needed, and it really helps! We are more than blessed for all of the support we've been given. It has certainly helped and we will be forever grateful!!
