Landen had a follow up appointment with immunology at Duke on Monday. We were thankful for the timing of it since Landen has been sick. Thankfully though the doctor's listened to his lungs and said they were clear. Despite a lingering cough Landen seems much better so we were glad to hear the medicine had done its job. They did prescribe Landen an inhaler and another round of zithromax just in case. We are trying the inhaler since that has been suggested before with his random wheezing.
Landen wasn't due for another CBC for another month but because of a few petechiae spots again on his neck the doctor went ahead and ordered a CBC. We are waiting on those results but we should know something soon. It was actually just a finger prick this time!!
We discussed Landen's prevnar 13 and pneumovax vaccines. He is right on schedule for those and will need his last shot in August and then they can repeat the pneumococcal antibody titre's to see if his body can fight off the bacteria.
A new issue was discovered at the appointment. It is a urological issue and he was referred to a urologist at Duke. We are waiting on them to call to schedule that appointment. We've actually had some concerns about this but after several examinations by several doctor's nothing has ever been noticed before now. I won't go in to detail here because of the nature of the matter but surgery is very likely to correct the issue.
Landen did really well for the nurses and doctor's....probably the best he's ever done or at least in a very long time. He cooperated extremely well! He is now 32 inches tall (he's grown a little if that measurement is accurate) and 17 pounds and 3 ounces. We appreciate so many people praying and we covet your continued prayers especially with this new concern.
