Transplant - Day Thirteen

Today was the last day of chemo!! Yay!! We are so excited that Landen's treatment is over. He gets to rest for the next three days and then it will be time for the transplant! Today's chemo was Melphalan and it is supposed to be the hardest one. The biggest side effect is mucositis which is basically mouth ulcers that can spread to the throat and stomach. He could also experience nausea and vomiting. They had him eat popsicles during the infusion. He usually doesn't eat popsicles because they make him so cold but he ate two today! Hopefully it helped!

He had a great day. He was a little pale today and he did take a little nap which is highly unusual but if you didn't know he was taking chemo you would never know it. His WBC dropped to 0.7 today but his blood work still looks good and he still doesn't need any transfusions.

Landen had a lot of visitors today! That made for a fun but busy day!

The Winoker's

The Karen's ;-)

Frank, Peggy, Sandra, Myra, and Randy

Mr. Steve and Mrs. Debbie

Derek and his buddies from the Charlotte Fire Dept.

A special prayer time over PaPaw at the State Meeting of Free Will Baptist

Landen started feeling bad tonight. His blood pressure was high, he said he felt bad all over and he had a headache that brought him to tears. He took some medicine for his symptoms and a little while later he got sick to his stomach. He was pitiful but thankfully it didn't last long or maybe he worked through it. He is so tough!! Even when he was feeling bad he was just a talking and smiling and saying the sweet things he says! :-)
