A Peek Into Our Week

This week has been really busy! We had our last church basketball game and our first homeschool mom's get together! I've been getting ready for the consignment sale at our church but really had to get a lot done for that this week. The Lord has also blessed us with a new home! So I've been cleaning out and trying to get ready to move! I was able to snap a few pictures this week to share! :-)

I've had some excellent helpers!! :-) Brayden has really helped out a lot this week between school assignments and after school! :-) His eager willingness to help has been a blessing to me and I'll enjoy it as long as it lasts! ;-)

This was a rare but much enjoyed downtime one evening this week!

On Monday we were able to go visit Luke's grandparents in Roanoke, VA. Luke's Pawpaw was recently put in a nursing home due to his declining health. While it was hard to see him under those circumstances it was so nice to spend some time with them.

The week after Brayden had the flu, Landen and Hannah Grace had some flu symptoms but never tested positive for the flu. They both ran fevers off and on for about a week. Well, when Landen was still running a low grade fever off and on by Thursday afternoon, nearly two weeks later, we took him to the doctor. He also wasn't quite himself all week. He was tired and wanted to be held which is not like him at all. He only complained of a stomach ache. The doctor ran blood work which he needed to have done anyway. His WBC and RBC were low but close to normal range and his platelets were low. We're pretty sure the lowest they've ever been. We also found out he is anemic. The doctor is aware of Landen's condition but felt like he was dealing with something viral. He asked us to come back Monday afternoon to recheck his blood counts. Please pray with us that they will be higher and within normal range. The good thing is that he hasn't had a fever in a couple of days and is acting much better!!

Luke and I are trying to be intentional about spending one-on-one time with the boys each month. We take turns and every month on or around the date of their birthday we plan something. (My sister shared this idea she heard with me.) We were a couple of weeks late but last month was my turn with Brayden. We both love Chick-fil-A breakfast so we went to breakfast together!! It was so nice and we really enjoyed our time together. As we were about to start eating Brayden said this is the best day ever! I asked him why and he said because I get to drink Coke! LOL!!! You can tell he doesn't get to drink Coke often! ;-)

Oh yeah! One more exciting thing happened! Hannah had her first taste of a teething cookie in her mesh feeder! While it was a new experience she seemed to enjoy it! :-)
