Saturday was a rough day for Landen with nausea and diarrhea. He stayed in the bed all day. Nothing changed with his care. He did a lot better taking his medicine but his stomach did not like it. We are so proud of him though, he has worked really hard! He did have a rash that would come and go but it didn't really get worse or raised so that was good! Today was better! He played and he ate really good! Dr. Huo was very pleased with how well Landen looked and acted today since he had such a rough night. Nothing really changed with his care today but they did give him medicine for his nausea before he took his medicines and they spaced the medicine out with 15 minutes between each one. So far, he has not thrown up today but he has had diarrhea. The diarrhea is either from the infections or it could be GVH (graft vs. host disease). The doctor does not think it is GVH because a rash from GVH would not come and go like it did plus Landen has an appetite today so that is a very good sign. Thankfully, the rash was gone today. The doctor really feels like Landen's symptoms are from the infections in addition to the fact that he is putting more on his stomach when he hasn't eaten in more than three weeks. We are praying that he is right and we're trying not to worry. Landen did not need any transfusions today. His new cells are working and producing on their own! Praise the Lord. We are so excited and thankful for this. Landen's cyclosporine level has finally leveled out where they would like it to be. It has been at the right level for the past two days. Landen is not feeling well tonight. His stomach is bothering him and he is very tired. Please pray with us that Landen will feel better. It's so hard seeing him so sick for so long. Please pray his infections will clear up and that he does not have GVH. Please also pray that he will continue to eat more and take his medicines well and that everything will stay down. He has been a little emotional lately so please also pray about that.
Luke and I took Brayden and Hannah Grace home last night since Nana and Lois were here. It was very hard to leave and not be here but we knew we needed a little break and we are so thankful he was in good hands. It was weird but really nice to be at church this morning. VBS started at Highland Drive tonight. Heather came in to town this afternoon and plans to stay at our house this week with the kids and take them to VBS. We are so thankful for her help with this! It means so much! Since Hannah Grace is turning three this week today was her last day in the nursery and this is her first VBS! The kids at VBS did a video call with Landen tonight. It was very touching to see their love and support. It's really hard knowing he will miss it but we appreciate their kind thoughts and many prayers!
The target date for discharge is July 3rd. We're not getting our hopes up but the doctor says it is possible. We're hanging on but the longer we're here, the harder it gets. We are exhausted but more than that it is so hard to see Landen go through so much. Thank you for your prayers and please keep praying!
Ready for church!
