Transplant - Day Twenty-four (+7)

Today is one week since transplant! Landen did get sick before bed last night but after that he had a good night. He woke up around 10:45 this morning and was acting more like himself! We have missed him! This was a great start to our day!! It makes us so happy to see him awake and alert since he has slept most of the week. The doctor's are so happy too! It means a lot to see how much they care!

Landen's platelets dropped from 29 to 16 so he got a platelet transfusion today but he did not need blood. His white cell count is still at 0 but that is expected. Landen started a new medicine today to help stimulate cell growth. The fact that Landen is feeling a little better and starting this medicine means we might see an ANC level very soon! We are so excited and thankful!! Landen has been on morphine around the clock for a couple of days but they lowered his dose today to see if he will experience less side effects. He felt good most of the day and got to play with his cousins! He got tired late afternoon and crashed around 6:30 or so. He has not felt good at all tonight and has been pretty miserable. It's amazing how fast he can turn around but overall today was a better day and we are so thankful! It was dressing change day and Landen did great! It wasn't easy for him but he is so tough! Landen had a couple of visitors today and Chelsey was his nurse today! We were so happy to see her again. She was the first nurse he had here and we haven't seen her in a while!

Dr. Johnson is back!

We were pleasantly surprised to see Mr. Edward O'Neal again today but we failed to take another picture. He is such a blessing! Landen really enjoyed his visit! Thank you for praying for us and please continue. Please pray that he will not have any infections and stay well. Please also pray that he will have a white blood cell count soon and that he will have another good day tomorrow.
