Transplant - Day Twenty-three (+6)

Landen slept all morning again and hasn't felt good at all. He just says he hurts all over. :-( He woke up for a little while this afternoon when he got a visit from his cousins! He stayed in bed but he did sit up and play for a little while. He was so excited to see them! The doctor's continue to say that Landen is doing very well and that things are going as expected! They feel like his mucositis is getting worse. They mentioned today that they expect his mucositis to be worse than it might be for someone else because of his underlying condition. His gums bled a little this morning and again, this is an expected side effect. He had a fever most of the day but thankfully his blood cultures are clear so far. He was nauseous again today and did throw up once. We feel like that part has improved some. When the doctor came by this afternoon, I pointed out some petechiae on his back and he said that's exactly what it was but he said he also noticed some "splotchiness" and that was very good! He seemed very pleased with what he was seeing. While I don't understand it all, I'm so thankful for his encouraging visit! All Landen wants to do is sleep and that is exactly what he needs right now. This part of the journey is exhausting and tough but we are reminded of five words we often over look in scripture, "and it came to pass." Please pray with us that this part will pass quickly.
